A Look At Moebius Model Kits

Plastic model kits of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy characters have been a huge hit ever since Aurora released their first line of monster kits back in the early 1960s. This trend continued through the late-70s until the garage kit boom happened in the mid-80s to the late-90s, where many newer model kits were being made of vinyl and resin instead of plastic. Nevertheless, plastic models continued to thrive, with companies like Revell, Monogram, and Polar Lights reproducing some of Aurora's most popular kits.

Sadly, today many of those companies are either out of business or no longer manufacture franchise-based re-releases. Even so, a new company has stepped forward to fill the void: Moebius Models.

Godzilla's Top 10 Battles!

Godzilla may have originated in Japan back in 1954, but today he's a global icon. The King of the Monsters has conquered nearly every form of entertainment known to exist, having appeared in 28 Toho Studios films, an American adaptation (a remake is currently in the works), Marvel, Dark Horse, and IDW have each played host to a Godzilla comic series, and the Big-G has starred in both a Hanna-Barbera cartoon and another animated series based-on the 1998 American film. Beyond that, Godzilla has claimed his place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running film series by a single film-studio, received an MTV lifetime achievement award in 1996, and was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004.

So prepare yourself as we look back at Godzilla's impressive history and examine his Top 10 Battles! Get ready to crumble!!

A FOND LOOK BACK AT THE YOUNG ADULT HORROR NOVELS OF THE ‘90s

Just when you thought it was safe to read again...

Kids watch horror movies. Sure, they may be Rated-R, but back in the ‘80s and ‘90s what kid didn’t know about Jason, Freddy, Pinhead, Chucky, or Michael. These horror icons have transcended the realm of just being ‘horror-movie’ characters and have become something more akin to ‘supervillians’, in much the same way that the Joker or Dr. Doom have entertained comic readers (just in gorier ways). No one can deny that Freddy Krueger may have started out as a frightening, nightmare-inducing threat, but by the first sequel he became a wise-cracking merchant of menace that developed a loyal fan-base always ready to hear his next quip and see his next exploit.

The Greatest Movie Taglines EVER! - Part I

Taglines. They were a one or two sentence pitch as to why you should see the advertised movie. Sometimes these taglines would be reiterated in the trailer or on commercials, but most often they were spread across the movie poster for all to see. Currently it seems that the importance of taglines has fallen to the wayside in Hollywood. A shame, because there were some great ones that have etched themselves into popular culture.

So, lets venture back to a time when a movie poster's taglines had the power to excite you into seeing the film...today we look at some of the greatest movie taglines in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy cinema!

Jason Still Lives: The Top 13 Moments in the Friday the 13th Films

Gasp! There hasn't been a post in over a week! But there's good reason for it. Many things are underway for our Middle Earth Collector's blog and we'll fill you in on them very soon. However, for now, there is cause to celebrate! Why, you ask? Because this upcoming Friday is a holiday! A stress-free holiday that warrants relaxation, swimming, campfires, hanging out with friends, romantic nights, and long walks by the lake. Of course, this holiday needs to be celebrated at a secluded camp site to get the most out of it. May we recommend Camp Crystal Lake? Oh, you've heard of it? What? They now call it Camp Blood, you say? Nonsense...you're going to let some maniac in a hockey mask ruin your fun?

Voorhees. Jason Voorhees.
