A FOND LOOK BACK AT THE YOUNG ADULT HORROR NOVELS OF THE ‘90s

Just when you thought it was safe to read again...

Kids watch horror movies. Sure, they may be Rated-R, but back in the ‘80s and ‘90s what kid didn’t know about Jason, Freddy, Pinhead, Chucky, or Michael. These horror icons have transcended the realm of just being ‘horror-movie’ characters and have become something more akin to ‘supervillians’, in much the same way that the Joker or Dr. Doom have entertained comic readers (just in gorier ways). No one can deny that Freddy Krueger may have started out as a frightening, nightmare-inducing threat, but by the first sequel he became a wise-cracking merchant of menace that developed a loyal fan-base always ready to hear his next quip and see his next exploit.

The Greatest Movie Taglines EVER! - Part I

Taglines. They were a one or two sentence pitch as to why you should see the advertised movie. So, lets venture back to a time when a movie poster's taglines had the power to excite you into seeing the film...today we look at some of the greatest movie taglines in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy cinema!

Jason Still Lives: The Top 13 Moments in the Friday the 13th Films

Gasp! There hasn't been a post in over a week! But there's good reason for it. Many things are underway for our Middle Earth Collector's blog and we'll fill you in on them very soon. However, for now, there is cause to celebrate! Why, you ask? Because this upcoming Friday is a holiday! A stress-free holiday that warrants relaxation, swimming, campfires, hanging out with friends, romantic nights, and long walks by the lake. Of course, this holiday needs to be celebrated at a secluded camp site to get the most out of it. May we recommend Camp Crystal Lake? Oh, you've heard of it? What? They now call it Camp Blood, you say? Nonsense...you're going to let some maniac in a hockey mask ruin your fun?

Voorhees. Jason Voorhees.
