Of course, the quality of the super hero team up is sometimes questionable. Spider-Man teaming up with Iron Man is a force to be reckoned with, the same goes for Green Lantern pairing up with DC's other emerald crime-fighter, Green Arrow. Such winning combinations always stir up comic sales. On the other hand, Howard The Duck joining forces with the Silver Surfer: maybe not (though it has happened).

Then there's the exotic, bizarre team-ups that fall somewhere in the middle. Take for example, drum roll please...

Back in the '80s & '90s the video game industry was still fairly new, and eager to try every merchandising/licensing avenue under the sun. Atari, Commodore 64, and Nintendo were soon releasing a slew of games based off of movies, ranging from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Batman, E.T., Godzilla, and too many more to possibly name.

Cinema’s ‘Golden Age of Horror’ – it was a time when silent silver-screen terrors petrified audiences with unrelenting fear. While filmmaking technology and technique have changed much since the 1920s, many of those classic films are far from forgotten – and few-to-none are more remembered than the 1925 Phantom of the Opera, starring the legendary Lon Chaney. 

The Phantom of the Opera, based on Gaston Leroux’s classic novel, was a box-office hit for Universal back in the day and has since sparked a series of remakes, re-interpretations, and re-imaginings for close to a century after its release. Even so, none can compare to the latest iteration of Chaney’s masterwork: a sound ‘talkie’ version of the silent film, digitally re-mastered in 3D!

To get the monstrous details on this upcoming release, we were fortunate enough to speak with  Terror Inc. Films, who, with Shadowland Productions are behind this phan-tastic project.

Captain America: The First Avenger Retro-Style Poster

Sadly, the best poster for Captain America: The First Avenger, won't be the one featured on theater walls. This retro-style poster depicts the Star-Spangled Avenger giving Hitler the ol' right hook. However, a limited number of these posters have been printed (100 in total) and will be given away to audience members at the LA Times Hero Complex Film Festival.

Dark Shadows Comics

From June 1966 to April 1971, Dark Shadows aired on ABC television. The show may have had a rocky start and questionable ratings, but with the introduction of Barnabas Collins, the show's feature vampire, around the 200th episode, Dark Shadows became a cult hit. Unlike many soap operas, Dark Shadows was able to transcend the realm of television and was featured in two feature-length theatrical films, a series of novels, magazines, and comic books.

A Look At Moebius Model Kits

Plastic model kits of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy characters have been a huge hit ever since Aurora released their first line of monster kits back in the early 1960s. This trend continued through the late-70s until the garage kit boom happened in the mid-80s to the late-90s, where many newer model kits were being made of vinyl and resin instead of plastic. Nevertheless, plastic models continued to thrive, with companies like Revell, Monogram, and Polar Lights reproducing some of Aurora's most popular kits.

Sadly, today many of those companies are either out of business or no longer manufacture franchise-based re-releases. Even so, a new company has stepped forward to fill the void: Moebius Models.
